The EGC association (http://www.egc.asso.fr/) offers scholarships to doctoral students, post-docs and young doctors to take part in the EGC2019 conference (https://egc2019.sciencesconf.org/), as well as 'workshops and winter school that will take place in Metz from 21 to 25 January 2019.

EGC intends to take into consideration individual situations in order to enable young researchers working in extraction and knowledge management to attend the main French-speaking conference in the field. The recipient of the scholarship must be the principal author of an article accepted for presentation at the conference.

This scholarship will cover conference registration, accommodation (student accommodation - CROUS or double room to share), and a contribution towards the travelling cost (up to € 200).

Terms of the scholarship:

  • The recipient of the scholarship must be the lead author of a long or short article.
  • The recipient agrees to participate to the conference.

 

Important: The reimbursement of expenses incurred, according to the conditions of the scholarship, will be granted only in case of actual presence of the beneficiary during the duration of the conference.

Application procedure:

To apply for this scholarship, we kindly ask you to send us as soon as possible, upon acceptance of the paper and before November 28th, 2018, electronically:

  • Photocopy of an identity document.
  • A copy ofA CV of the applicant with possibly a link to a website presenting the research activities (institutional site, DBLP site ...).
  • A letter of motivation emphasizing the interest that the applicant has for the work in Extraction and Knowledge Management.
    • It is asked to specify the status of the applicant (post-doc, year and month of defense, doctoral 1st year, doctoral 2nd year, ...).
    • It is requested to specify the choice of registration: conference, workshop + conference, school + conference.
  • Documentary evidence of the status: "student card", "attestation of the status of researcher", ...
  • Attach all supporting documents in support of the application (attestation of the research director, scientific manager, ...)

Are included in the scholarship:

  • If applicable, the registration for the two days of EGC training (22nd and 23rd January).
  • If applicable, registration for workshops (23 January).
  • Registration for the conference (24-26 January).
  • Membership in the EGC association, amounting to 20 euros.
  • Gala lunches and dinner.
  • Social events.
  • Transport costs: participation in transport costs up to 200 € (on proof).
  • Accommodation costs: CROUS or double room to share.
